The Dentist -deux fois

It seems so fancy in french…I went to the dentist today”deux fois”- twice! I had to reschedule the appt. because in November I didn’t know the jog-a-thon was on the 25th of May, so I rescheduled it for today, the problem is I didn’t erase the old time in my mind! I showed up with the three boys at 9 for an 11 o’clock appt! I took them to school, took them out of school, went to the appt. Made them lunch, them took them back to school. That’s all I did all morning was the dentist for three lil boys(dork)! Good news is no cavities(yipee).

The Boys are back in town

Tired and happy…a couple bruises, a burn from the camp fire, sunkissed cheeks and lots of stories.

Bye Mrs. Wolf

Mrs. Wolf has been Joe’s Substitute teacher for the whole month of May. Joe’s Teacher went out to be with his brand new baby boy. I mentioned to the other room mom that i had asked Mrs. Wolf what her favorite treat was and she said ice-cream. I planned to go get all the goodies that day and the other room Mom said she had it all zipped up…..amazing! We partied…..and the kids partied a wee too hard! Got crazy, but it was Mrs. Wolf’s last day so it’s cool!

italian fries

I made steak and fries tonight after swimming for Joe and Nick and Soccer for Tony….dinner was kind of late….but these fries were worth the wait. Found this recipe on lline
6 or 7 Idaho potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/3-inch-thick French fry-style strips, soaked in cold water
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs or some combo of dried oregano, thyme, marjoram, and basil
2 cups freshly grated Romano cheese
1/4 cup parsley leaves, finely chopped
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) salted butter, cut into 6 cubes
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Drain the potatoes and pat dry with paper towels. Spread 1 tablespoon of the olive oil on each of 2 rimmed baking sheets and spread out the potatoes. Overlapping is fine.
Sprinkle the dried herbs evenly over the potatoes. Liberally spread the cheese and parsley on top. Drizzle the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the cheese. Scatter the cubed butter around the pans.
Bake until the potatoes are golden brown, rotating the pans after 30 minutes, for 45 to 50 minutes total. Use a spatula to lift off the potatoes with all the crusty cheese adhered to them. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
