Archaeology Fair

Our Journeys today took us to Dana Point for the Archaeological Institute of America’s 10th Annual Archaeology Fair. It was very interesting. As always, each boy got a kick out of something different(I just love that)
Joe is Creating his own replica of ancient gold jewelry, using inspiration from the gold found at the ancient site of Troy.
Tony and Nick are drilling a hole in a shell using a drill inspired by long ago.
Tony is watching a professional flintknapper create real stone tools right before his eyes! He listened for awhile about the many types of stone tools people have made over millions of years, and exactly how they did it.(oh the wheels were spinning).
Nick got to participate in a live Roman legion march to battle, just as they did in AD 122.
This event was at the Ocean Institute. Joe really enjoyed the cannon on the tallship The Pilgrim
