Bunco and busy-ness

“One reason I don’t drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time.” ~Lady Astor
I had hosted bunco this fine september day. My theme was lost on my buncomates, but i thought it was really cute. After Bunco my friend Julie came over and helped with the 3rd grade door. We worked until three in the morn. Her cricut is magical and the door should look marvie!

Baking Monday

It was a hit! I found this recipe HERE and saved it for baking Monday!
caramel crack

2 sticks melted butter

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

2 cups flour

2 cups oatmeal

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 bag of chocolate chips

1 jar of caramel topping (think smucker’s)

1. preheat oven to 325 degrees, & grease a 9×13″ baking pan.

2. combine the brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, baking soda & salt. add melted butter & mix until “crumbly”.

3. press HALF of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan, & bake for about 15 minutes.

4. remove from oven & spread the ENTIRE bottle of caramel topping on top, followed by the the ENTIRE bag of chocolate chips, & then finally sprinkle the remaining prepared dough mixture over the top.

5. continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or so, until it’s a light golden brown.

6. once you’ve removed the caramel bars from the oven you need to let them cool & chill until the chocolate is set…. then it’s time to cut them & start feasting.

“It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.” ~Author Unknown
Hubba Bubba designed, had printed, and put up the foundation banners for our school. The foundation is a charity for our school that helps pay 5 positions(support staff). I think the signs turned out very wonderful. I think Hubba Bubba is wonderful!
We let the kids play awhile at the school and then we took the rascals to see, “Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs”. And for dinner? Pasta and meatballs!

Soccer Saturday

Today I had the pleasure of watching two out of three games. First we went to Joe’s game. It seems Joe has discovered that there is a ball invovled in soccer. I’m not getting my hopes up that he will remember for next week, but it was delightful to watch him play this week!
Next, I went to Tony’s game. Dad was coaching Nick’s game at the very same time so Joe and I got to watch the big guys play.
Tonys game lasted a little longer than Nick’s, so Dad and Nick joined us at Tony’s game. I caught a little brother bonding at the park, awww the good stuff.

I love my husband

All is right in my world when he is near. And in the world of the three little boys below!
Hubba Bubba was at a work related conference in Colorado for a whole week. We missed him like crazy. I am sooooo happy he is back.

Nick had to go to the Eye Doctor as determined by the school, so I called everyday hoping for a cancellation closer to the here and now, since the appt. was a long time away. Murphy’s Law landed the cancellation today, the day of a classmates birthday party, one hour before the others boys got out of school. Nana took Nick to the Appt. and then she brought him over to the party. So he had the cool glasses on the whole party. Didn’t complain about wearing them, however they did end up breaking at the party and a Mom used a broken headband to fix them!

rays of sunshine

An email from Nick’s Teacher that just made me glow:

“Our good friend Nick-a-doodle-do passed 4 AM objectives on his own today! He was working it, focused and not goofing around. Yeah Nick!

He is standing next to me and rays of sunshine are “exploding” off his body!!!!

Have a good one,”
