Sunday night activity

img_3646

Auntie, Nana, Uncle Jimmy, Tony, the two boys and I watched the movie Elf after Sunday night dinner and then strung popcorn and cranberries for stage two of the tree decorating. Nick ran out of steam halfway through his first string, Tony was really into it this year. Joe however went to his room for burping at the dinner table(he’s a repeat offender, three strikes and you are in your room)and fell asleep! Looking good.

Pavement forest

Yep, we hunted for our tree at the old pavement forest that is the Home Depot parking lot. I let the kids and Hubba pick out the tree as I’m not very picky. As long as it smells good! We were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes.

lights, letters, and Christmas action

It was a productive day….

img_3546_2The boys helped Dad put up the Christmas lights. Tony was a real big help with the fuse box and what not the other two, not so much. They spent most of the time on the front yard flapping their arms. Then….

Thanksgiving Day Fun

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Tony’s cousins are awesome. I just love seeing them. And Aunt Lorraine is so sweet, I LOVE her! They are such a close knit family, it’s nice to see a strong family connection between people. We talked and laughed, we ate the yummiest turkey and onion pie and yams and…… let me tell tell you Terese and Richard are the best hosts in the whole wide world. It really is a warm wonderful holiday.

Thanks

I am thankful. I hope you are thankful, too. enjoy.

operator error

duz-day-11-01-1949-011_1-copy.

Frantic, I was frantic as I was desperately trying to pull the dryer dial to get the stupid thing to go on, I’m thinking crap…we can’t afford to replace a flipp’n dryer. The dial kept coming off when I tried to pull it out to turn it, to begin the dry cycle. The thing is the dryer has a button to push that says “push to start” I was using the washer actions on the dryer. I am so happy I didn’t call anyone or panic at any higher of a level than simply sweating/heart racing. I think I have a lot on my brain…or nothing at all.dork.

Arts and crafts

I had a great day at the boys school. It was the last day before Thanksgiving break and we partied. In Kindergarten I got to help make butter and monitor a clay tree project. In second grade I got to help monitor an art project, watch an ice cube turkey race, and make some snacks. I’m telling you, you don’t get these days back EVER. The joy on their faces makes me so happy. Building good memories with the lil farts one day at a time…

I’m happy I get to go in and help.grateful for the opportunity.

On a side note sometimes when I got into classrooms a parent will confuse my wanna-be craftiness for artist ability to that, I giggle, and I think about a quote I read once and was reminded of recently on THIS SITE,  “know the difference between art and crafts”.
