sleepover and a half

I was jazzed, Nick was sleeping over at a buddies house(One down), so I invited a buddy of Tonys to our house. I got the “Mom I wanna come home call” about 9:30 from Nick (so much for one down) now I’m one up!

So much for an uninterrupted sleepover.

Applesauce and fetal position

So I made sauce today with Joe’s kindergarten class:

I think even the apples were upset at the sauce they became

This homemade applesauce recipe is quick, easy, pink and yummy.

  1. Core 12 apples.
  2. Cut the apples into strips, leaving the skins on. (This makes it pink and easy!)
  3. Put the apples into a electric skillet at 300.
  4. Add: 1 cup water, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice, 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup sugar
  5.  Heat and 20 to 30 minutes until apples are soft.
  6. Move apples from heat and mash apples until smooth.
  7. Mashed with a potato masher .
  8. Taste. say ewww gross and add a butt load more sugar
  9. Try to pick out the apple peels because they look like used bandaids.
  10. Pray they don’t tell their Mommies who helped at food centers this friday.
If I had to do it again, I would for sure peel the apples. It was lumpy and nasty.
After my applesauce adventure, I came home, plopped on the bed, and curled up in the fetal position. Teachers truly don’t get enough credit!

Kinder fun

A Mom Volunteer in Joe’s class shared that after all the children sang the abc song in the morning the Teacher gave the students free dance time. Her son and joe spread thier legs, bent their knees, and jammed on air guitars….just rock’n. All the other kids were just moving side to side lacking the imagination needed to feel the music (most likely an abc song).  Rock on little dude, rock on….

After school fun! Tony has been riding around the neighborhood with friends, Nick has been on a play date just about every other day. Fun, fun, fun! It’s so nice to see the spark of happiness in their eyes as they play with a pal.

I hope they remember the feeling of freedom and joy a good time with a playmate brings….

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family.  Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted.  ~Paul Pearshall

Aunt Betty, G, and Aunt Cathy came down for a visit on Thursday and left Tuesday. We went to Seal Beach, Big Corona,  Roger’s Garden, and the 99 cent store(Varied Baby). Giana remembered the homemade play dough from her last visit and candy corn so we did it again. It sure is nice seeing them!
