First and Third
Tony received his ribbons in the mail for his photography entries in the OCFAIR. He got a first place for the hippo and a third place for the gorilla. They changed the photo requirements so even though Nick and Joe took pictures they wanted to enter the very same Zoo trip, they couldn’t. Oh well, Tony is proud as punch. And Nick and Joe will eventually be old enough to enter.
10th Birthday Party a Hit!
Tony’s party was a 10 year old dream event! Complete with three hours of a game he normally doesn’t get to play, a food fight, and a Mrs. Fields birthday cake!
The boys are inside an RV, each boy has his own monitor, and they are playing against each other, I have never heard so much joy come out of 14 little nine and ten year old boys in my whole life! So much Fun!
Perfect day, until…
This is summer, playing under a sheet in a fort, on the front lawn. ahh, this is the best. Made for and by Mr.Joe himself! Playing, not a care in the world. Birds chirping, sunny side of the street kinda day.
Until ….Nick started getting a fever, and Dad’s allergies started acting up, I had to cancel my Mom needs a break plans and do the Mom needs to be a nurse plan. The Dentist called in an antibiotic for Nick and the anesthesiologist should be giving us a jingle. Dad is taking an afternoon nap. I am sitting here thinking about the crazy busy drop off and pick up schedule that starts next week, having an itty-bitty pity party, yes I would LOVE some cheese with my whine!
Movie on the beach
Friday night we went to the Newport Dunes and saw Happy Feet on an inflatable movie screen. We had a pretty darn good time, Nick was still a little whoosie but he was up for it. It was nice to be outside and see the stars, when the strolling guitar man came by us(before the movie) he was singing Born to be wild….I feel that it wasn’t a coincidence….the thing is they were really on their best behavior. The movie was free. parking was 12 bucks. cheap n’ cheerful!
Up, down, screwing around
Up
Joe has tissue up his nose as he is plagued with bloody noses randomly
down
Certain things send Nick into pretty severe panic attacks, and the Dentist is one of them sooooo, he was put under anesthesia today at the dentist while she worked on his whole mouth!
Screwing around
Tony built a robot with some left over parts from an erector set I bought to help make the robots Nick and Joe entered for the ocfair.
Can you hear money?
I’m not sure, but when I asked both boys to pose with their very first finished workbooks they both put their money near the old ears!
Sounds like a profitable summer to me!
“It’s not that scary, I”ll do it with you”
I love my father as the stars – he’s a bright shining example and a happy twinkling in my heart. ~Adabella Radici
Tony is not sure of swimming in the ocean, so Dad steps in to show him the way.
Nick and Joe fulling enjoying the water today and yesterday….wide open spaces are a little boys paradise
The Martian Child
We went to the free movie today. I’ve never been before, but with gas prices the way they are I’ve decided free is going to have to be at the end of every driving excursion! Free movies happen twice a week at 10am… I’m not planning on hitting them all, but it’s sure a nice little rabbit to pull out of my hat every once in awhile.
Daddy’s Home, yippee!
Daddy went to Colorado for business and after driving a bazillion hours he took his favorite girl and his three favorites little dudes to the park, not the closest park, but a super cool spinning thingies park that the boys totally dig…..I swear the man is hiding a superman cape somewhere in our home….he totally is the super hero at our pad!
Junior Guards
I was raised to play it safe. My Dad did not like me to do things that could lead to injury. I never learned to roller skate, ski, ride a motorcycle, ride a bike(until I was nine), ride a roller coaster(until I was 14). Safe, safe, safe. Now I’m a Mom, and I’m trying REAL hard to teach the rewards of risk….enter Tony’s first day at Junior guards. I was stressed out, but trying to play it cool like a cucumber. Tony was real nervous until they broke into groups and he saw people from school and then I saw this
A smile on that nine year old face. Running up and down to the water taking itty, bitty risks.
